SUMMARY The System Administrator (SA) works as a member of the commercial systems group providing daily system support including hardware, operating system and applications installation. Troubleshoot system and user problems. Perform system maintenance on software; evaluate, and test upgrades to hardware; upgrade operating systems and applications. Investigate problems, research and develop effective and logical solutions considering operational policies and information assurance requirements. Provide Certification and Accreditation (C&A) and remediation support. The C&A might, on occasion, provide written documentation, proposals and white papers. Must be able to work independently or in a team and be willing to interact with other group members and users at all levels of the organization.

| ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. > - Install any of the following operating systems: Windows Server 2003 and 2008, all versions, Microsoft Exchange Server, and Windows Workstation XP and 7, Citrix, VMWARE.
- Troubleshoot system and user problems.
- Perform system maintenance on both hardware and software; evaluate, test and integrate upgrades.
- Document all work performed on current and new systems by describing all relevant factors.
- Participate in meetings with customer, users and vendors to discuss options or gives status reports related to meeting required deadlines.
- Diagnose problems and make logical solutions to senior staff members.
QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience

Required:
- Minimum(5) five years experience working with Windows system administration.
- Minimum (5) five years experience on one or more of the following operating environments: Windows Server and Workstation.
- Demonstrated experience with the installing, managing, monitoring and troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange environments, including server, network and clients. Specific knowledge of Active Directory, OWA, Email Messaging, User Accounts, and mailbox permissions.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Security+ or GSEC Certification and an applicable Windows OS certification (Win 7, WIN XP, MCITP, MCSA, or MCSE) within 6 months of hire.
- Requires a Department of Defense security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Preferred:
- Experience with: CITRIX, VMWARE, SAMBA, Storage systems such as SAN,
NAS and RAID, ORACLE Application Server/ORACLE DB Server, Redhat.
- Security+ or GSEC certification.
- Windows OS certification.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Experience with installing and securing Windows 2000, XP, 7, 2003 and 2008.
- Excellent Customer Support.
- Knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, Routing, MS Office Products, MS Visio, MS Project.
- Knowledge to troubleshoot Server, Workstation, application and network problems
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use fabrication tools; stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work performed under this contract is primarily performed in the Integrated Warfare Systems Lab (IWSL). The IWSL is an environmentally controlled, electronic equipment laboratory space. The facility is clean and air-conditioned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide guidance to lower tier support reps regarding specific tasks as assigned. Additional Qualifying Factors: As a condition of employment, candidates for posted positions must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results. Applicants selected for this position may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
