SUMMARY Responsible for performing Tactical activities at the Operations Control Center (OCC), in the Integrated Warfare Systems Lab (IWSL) Dahlgren, VA, as assigned by the Lead Tactical Systems Engineer for that respective shift. These duties include performing unique tasks as assigned, providing support the facility users, both corrective and preventive maintenance as well as documentation of work performed (log keeping). The position is not covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA) Davis Bacon Act (DBA), or union.

| ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance for the respective shift.
- Responsible for making tactical logbook entries that are concise, accurate and provide sufficient detail.
- Responsible for using proper Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Responsible for generating/updating/closing work candidates and configuration changes ensuring the information is detailed and accurate.
- Responsible for installing/testing all IWSL local change notices.
- Responsible for utilizing all applicable security procedures while performing in the IWSL.
QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience The Tactical Systems Engineer shall have 8 years general tactical experience which includes 3 years of Aegis specific experience.
- The Tactical Systems Engineer shall have the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- The ability to work independently and complete a substantial body of work.
- Ability to accept and respond to new emergent and unique project task requirements.
- Ability to present ideas clearly and succinctly both in writing and verbally to co-workers, team members, internal department groups and personnel as well as outside entities to include other departments.
- Ability to use a variety of office automation software, i.e., Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. to accomplish technical and support work.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinates, supervises, and/or manages support personnel.
