SUMMARY Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring health, safety and environmental programs and policies, while ensuring compliance with local, state and federal health and safety regulations. Facilitate or provide safety and occupational health, and fire and/or life safety training. Work with the project staff, the General Manager and the Corporate Safety Officer to target specific loss control concerns, and track improvement in those areas. Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the planning, implementation and supervision of the contract quality control plan. Assure that materials, workmanship and performance are in full compliance with the contract and documented specifications. Prepare regular QC reports and monitor progress of projects. Will work with General and Project Managers to implement programs, and may be called upon to meet with client representatives to report on Safety Programs or on the QC program. Travel may be required.

| ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. § Develop, implement and monitor Occupational Safety and Health Program for multiple work sites § Assist in production of annual OSHA Summaries and respond to OSHA surveys § Perform Accident Investigations, including the taking of statements and productions of analysis of incidents, and recommendations for appropriate remedial action § Ensure compliance with military installation health and safety regulations § Inspection of work sites, including review of limited hazardous materials, life safety, emergency response, sanitation and fire hazard exposures § Developing post-inspection written reports and recommend corrective action § Coordinate with on-site subcontracted and/or local medical providers to get employees necessary medical treatment following workplace injuries § Assist in Workers Compensation claims and First Aid/Near Miss incident administration including: reporting claims; monitoring claims; working with insurers, supervisors and employees on returning to work § Assist in Drug and Alcohol testing plan implementation and maintenance, including: acting as a resource in determining whether employees appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol; transporting employees to/from drug test facilities for tests; providing supervisor Reasonable Suspicion training and training updates § Develop site safety programs, and provide training on workplace violence and bomb threat protocols § Frequent Contact with Corporate Safety Officer, General Managers, Project Managers, Quality Control or client personnel § This position will be permitted direct access to all Corporate executive officers as needed to address situations that cannot be resolved at the Project Level without additional assistance. § Possible contact with regulatory agencies, insurance inspectors, environmental and safety consultants, and subcontractors
QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Three+ years of industrial safety experience required. Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field preferred. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities This position requires knowledge of technical practices and programs used in the reduction or elimination of workplace hazards. Includes knowledge of worker safety and health regulations. Knowledge of procedures used to anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic hazards. Demonstrated strong time management, planning and project management skills. Proven ability to interface with all levels within an organization. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong presentation and diplomacy skills. OHST, CSP or ASP certification preferred. First Aid/CPR/AED training preferred. OSHA 30-hour for General Industry and Construction preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Performance of essential and ancillary functions requires maintenance of physical conditioning adequate for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have good vocabulary skills. Requires near visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone and keyboard; and ability to lift horizontally and vertically.
