| ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Inspect vehicles, and check gas, oil, and water levels prior to departure.
- Drive vehicles over specified routes or to specified destinations according to time schedules in order to transport passengers, complying with traffic regulations.
- Park vehicles at loading areas so that passengers can board.
- Assist passengers with baggage and collect tickets or cash fares.
- Report delays or accidents.
- Advise passengers to be seated and orderly while on vehicles.
- Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
- Load and unload baggage in baggage compartments.
- Make minor repairs to vehicle and change tires.
QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience High School Diploma preferred. Valid Class B Drivers License with passenger endorsement and no restrictions. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of transportation of principles and methods for moving people or goods by road. Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. The ability to communicate information and ideas effectively.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time. There is often the need to move or lift large items in excess of 70 pounds. Requires good vision and manual dexterity and ability to perform a wide variety of tasks. WORK ENVIRONMENT Field conditions prevail. Area is subject to blowing dust and sand with temperatures ranging from 10(-) degrees F in the winter to 125(+) degrees F in the summer. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES none Additional Qualifying Factors: Valid Class B Drivers License with passenger endorsement and no restrictions. Applicants must submit a current, clean Motor Vehicle Record and proof of insurance. Is eligible for grant of access to USMC installation. As a condition of employment, candidates for posted positions must have acceptable background check results and pass a pre-employment drug screening.
